Fixtures & Results Widget
List your club's matches once - date, home, away, and the score when it is in - and the widget sorts them into upcoming fixtures and recent results, groups them by day in your club's time zone, filters by team and lets supporters add a fixture, or all of them, to their calendar.

A plain iframe. Works everywhere, including site builders that strip scripts. Adjust height if your content needs more room.
<div data-a2z-widget="fixtures-results" data-height="1250"></div> <script async src="https://a2z.tools/embed.js"></script>
Adds a small script (what it does) that sizes the widget to fit its content, loads it lazily and keeps it isolated from your page's CSS.
Works with
How it works
Each line is date-time | home | away | score | venue | competition, where only the first three are required. The date-time is the local kick-off at the club, 2026-10-03T15:00 or 2026-10-03 15:00, converted to a UTC instant for that date in your IANA zone, so a 15:00 London kick-off in October is 14:00 UTC and in December 15:00 UTC. A date alone means the time is still to be confirmed. A score such as 2-1, 3:0 or 2-2 (4-3 pens) makes the line a result; P-P, postponed, cancelled and abandoned are written out. A line without a score is an upcoming fixture until its kick-off passes; after that it moves to the results as Result to follow - the widget never claims a match is live, because every score is typed by you. Fixtures run soonest first and results latest first, each grouped under day headings in your zone and capped at the number you choose. Picking a team shows only its matches and labels each result Won, Drew or Lost. Every timed fixture has a Calendar menu, and an All (.ics) button saves the whole list in one RFC 5545 file.
Method
- Kick-off UTC = local date-time in the club's IANA zone minus that zone's offset on that date
- Upcoming: no score and kick-off later than now (date-only fixtures: date today or later in the club's zone); otherwise listed with results
- Grouping: calendar day of the kick-off in the club's zone
- .ics: one VEVENT per fixture, DTSTART at kick-off, DTEND two hours later, UTC times, RFC 5545 escaping and folding
Worked examples
Autumn kick-off in London
Inputs: 2026-10-03T15:00 | Riverside Rovers | Westfield Wanderers; zone Europe/London
Result: Saturday 3 October 2026 - 15:00; calendar DTSTART:20261003T140000Z
BST (UTC+1) applies on 3 October, so 15:00 local is 14:00 UTC.
Late match across midnight UTC
Inputs: 2026-10-25T00:30 | Late | Night; zone Europe/London
Result: Listed under Sunday 25 October
00:30 BST is 23:30 UTC on 24 October, but days follow the club's zone.
Team filter on a result
Inputs: 2026-09-19T15:00 | Rovers | Town | 2-1; team Town
Result: Rovers 2 - 1 Town, labelled Lost
The filtered team scored fewer goals.
Limitations
- Scores and fixtures are typed by you; there is no live feed and no automatic league-table update.
- The calendar event lasts two hours from kick-off whatever the sport.
- Builder starting values carry fixed sample dates; replace them with your own season.
- Calendar entries do not update themselves if a fixture is moved; supporters need to save it again.
Where publishers use it
- A grassroots football, rugby or hockey club homepage with the next fixtures and last results side by side
- A youth league site where parents filter to their child's team and add every away match to the family calendar
- A cricket or netball club newsletter page showing postponed matches written out rather than hidden
- A school sports department listing inter-school fixtures for several teams with venues
- A local radio or community news site posting a weekend round-up of amateur results
Questions
Are the scores live?
No. Every score is typed by you in the embed settings, and the footer says so. A fixture whose kick-off has passed without a score is shown under Recent results as Result to follow, never as live or in progress. Update the line with the final score, for example 2-1, when the match ends.
How do time zones work for kick-off times?
Kick-off times are local to your club, interpreted in the IANA zone you set (Europe/London by default), using the offset in force on that date. A 15:00 kick-off on 3 October 2026 in London is 14:00 UTC because BST applies, and 15:00 on 5 December is 15:00 UTC. Day headings and times are shown in the club's zone for everyone, so a match at 00:30 on 25 October appears under Sunday 25 October even though it is still 24 October in UTC.
What can I put in the score column?
A score like 2-1, 3:0 or 1–0, with an optional note: 2-2 (4-3 pens) or 1-0 aet. P-P or postponed, cancelled and abandoned are shown as words in a pill. Anything else up to 30 characters, such as KO 3pm TBC, is shown as written beside the fixture.
What does the calendar button add?
A two-hour event starting at kick-off, titled Home v Away with the competition, and the venue as the location. The menu offers Google Calendar, Outlook.com, Microsoft 365 or an .ics file for Apple Calendar and others. The All (.ics) button saves every timed fixture shown in one file. Fixtures without a time, or postponed ones, have no button.
How many matches are shown?
Up to 6 fixtures and 6 results by default; set the number shown per section from 1 to 50. The list itself can hold 200 matches, and a line says how many more are not shown. Choose Upcoming or Results only to show one section.
